The developer behind Palworld has shared some insightful advice that could greatly improve the internet experience for everyone, essentially encouraging all to “Go play Megabonk!” John “Bucky” Buckley, the communication director and publishing manager at Pocketpair, likely grew weary of the overwhelming negativity on social media and opted to remind everyone of the joy of gaming.
In a recent tweet, Buckley stated, “If you find a game enjoyable and fun, that’s all that counts. There are no battlelines, no sides, no factions or teams. You’re free to play any game you wish, and you don’t owe anyone an explanation. There are no exceptions. Play whatever you want, gamers!”
A Call to Enjoy Gaming
His remarks come at a time when discussions in the gaming community often spiral into pointless culture clashes and console wars, detracting from the true essence of gaming, especially with the highly anticipated GOTY 2026 title, Megabonk, readily available.
“Next time you feel the urge to jump into a comments section to ‘defend’ a title, consider refraining,” Buckley urged. “Instead, launch into Megabonk or any game you love and enjoy yourself. The debate has no impact outside of social media. What matters is playing and enjoying games. GAMING!”
Support for Fellow Indies
This isn’t the first time Buckley has championed a fellow independent title. He recently expressed concern that many gamers might not have had the chance to experience Core Keeper, a fantastic survival and crafting game that merges elements of Minecraft and Stardew Valley.
