Kinetic Games Launches Publishing Arm to Support Indie Developers
The developer behind Phasmophobia, which has become one of the standout indie hits of the decade, is channeling its success into helping fellow game creators. Kinetic Games has officially unveiled Kinetic Publishing, a new initiative designed to boost innovation in the independent game development landscape.
As outlined in their press release, Kinetic Publishing is set to provide “financial, legal, and marketing support, along with wider development guidance” to small teams and solo developers worldwide who are about 12 to 18 months away from launching their games. Interested developers can pitch their projects directly, though it’s essential to note that Kinetic Publishing is steering clear of blockchain and AI-generated titles.
“It’s such an exciting time for indie game development, I can say that in the past five years I’ve learned so much,” remarked CEO Daniel Knight, who began his journey as a solo developer. “Our growth has enabled us to support studios that come under our wing and provide the assistance I wish I’d had early on.”
Marketing Director Asim Tanvir echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the goal of the publisher is to “join the ranks of supportive indie publishers who champion and encourage creativity.” This trend follows the footsteps of other successful ventures, like Pocketpair Publishing, the indie publishing branch of the Palworld studio, and Outersloth, which evolved from the tremendous success of Among Us.
Both Pocketpair and Outersloth have been pivotal in helping other developers navigate their paths for over a year now, bringing forth a fantastic array of intriguing—and sometimes odd—games.
As for Kinetic Games, not much is changing regarding their main focus; they continue to hone in on Phasmophobia, which has sold over 25 million copies. The team remains committed to the early access journey of the game, with a new map and the Chronicle Update set to launch later this year.
Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming indie games of 2026 and beyond!
