Nearly four years post the initial PS5 launch, the upgraded PlayStation 5 Pro model has been unveiled, providing a significant mid-gen upgrade. Priced from $700, the PS5 Pro comes equipped with a 2TB SSD and boasts a GPU that is 45% more powerful. This enables 2-3 times faster ray tracing capabilities along with PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR)—a neural upscaling technology akin to NVIDIA’s DLSS, though it won’t support PS VR2 right away but is expected to receive future updates.
This advancement allows developers to potentially elevate frame rates and refresh rates for PS VR2 games. Sony has confirmed that only two titles will have PS5 Pro patches upon release, and more are set to come out. We’ve made sure to highlight any upcoming games that offer validated PS5 Pro support while leaving out those with minor improvements without dedicated enhancements.
Several additional titles such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, My First Gran Turismo, and Resident Evil Village include PS5 Pro updates. However, it remains uncertain whether these enhancements apply solely to flatscreen versions or extend to PlayStation VR2. We’ve kept them off our list until further clarity is provided.
For now, let’s take a look at the PS VR2 games that currently feature PS5 Pro enhancements.
Currently Available Games
Arken Age
Created by VitruviusVR, Arken Age is a single-player sci-fi action-adventure game now live on PS VR2. The developers have stated that it offers a 15% resolution increase in ‘Performance Mode’ at 90FPS and a 25% boost when utilizing 60/120Hz reprojection in ‘Quality Mode.’
cyubeVR
Stonebrick Studios developed cyubeVR, an open-world sandbox reminiscent of Minecraft. The team confirmed that the PS5 Pro patch brings enhancements like improved levels of detail (LOD) for the landscape and player-created items, alongside higher LOD quality for trees.
Gran Turismo 7
The recent November 1.54 update for Gran Turismo 7 introduced PS5 Pro enhancements. VR-specific improvements comprise enhanced rendering quality along with smoother video playback facilitated by the VR Positional Reprojection feature.
Moreover, the no-cost entry My First Gran Turismo has also embraced PS5 Pro enhancements, though it’s uncertain whether they parallel those in Gran Turismo 7 on PS VR2 or are unique to the flatscreen version.
Hitman World of Assassination – VR Access
Hitman World of Assassination has returned to the VR scene with an adaptation of the complete trilogy for PlayStation VR2. Although IO Interactive initially asserted that the PS VR2 version wouldn’t feature PS5 Pro enhancements, the VR Access DLC pack claims it is “PS5 Pro enhanced.” We are awaiting confirmed details on this since we intend to update this if the enhancements only pertain to the base game.
A complete review is in the works. In the meantime, you can check out our recent interview with IO Interactive and our preview below for more insights.

While the framerate remains 90fps across both PS5 versions, developer Better Than Life disclosed that users of the Pro version will see improvements in dynamic resolution, 8K textures, and other enhancements.
No Man’s Sky
Hello Games confirmed that alongside cross-platform saves, No Man’s Sky quietly received its PS5 Pro Patch when the Cursed update was released. While support for PSSR on PS VR2 isn’t yet available, the studio revealed that the Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS) range has expanded from 1458P to 2160P on the PS5 Pro, and foveated rendering “enhances the effective resolution by 300%.”

Both versions operate at 90hz with no reprojection, while the PS5 Pro enhancements include dynamic shadows, edge blur effects, and a slight uptick in resolution supported through foveated rendering.
