Bigscreen has revealed that it achieved a remarkable milestone by selling more Beyond 2 headsets within the first 24 hours than the total number of Beyond 1 headsets sold during its first six months on the market.
This impressive launch performance equates to a tenfold increase in sales for the Beyond 2 compared to the initial launch of Beyond 1 two years ago.
Furthermore, the company noted that it surpassed Beyond 1’s first-day sales in merely 25 minutes, and reached the total sales of its first two months within just four hours.
New orders for Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e are expected to ship in June, as opposed to the earlier planned shipping dates of April and May for the first batches.
The recently unveiled Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e models boast several upgrades over the original headset. Notably, Beyond 2 features enhanced clarity with wider lenses, independent IPD adjustment, and a lighter design that weighs 20 grams less. Additionally, the Beyond 2e model introduces eye tracking capabilities thanks to the inclusion of compact sensors weighing only 1.05 grams.
As of now, the original Bigscreen Beyond headset accounts for approximately 0.45% of SteamVR users, which translates to about 1 in 200 users. We will closely monitor the market reception of Beyond 2 in the upcoming months, as its current sales momentum indicates it could potentially eclipse the original headset by the end of this year.
