nDreams recently revealed that their first-person virtual reality shooter, FRENZIES, which is currently in early access, will maintain its free-to-play model upon its official launch later this year.
Since its early access debut in October, FRENZIES has captivated players by delivering intense, neon-infused multiplayer arena shooting experiences to users on the Quest platform. The developers have previously garnered acclaim for their single-player VR shooters, such as Fracked and Synapse, and thousands of gamers have engaged with this PvP shooter during its active pre-release phase.
While there has been no confirmation regarding the exit from early access, nDreams plans to release updates throughout Spring and Summer, introducing new arenas and cosmetics that are expected to enhance the game’s diversity and gameplay options, building up to its full release for a wider audience.
In conjunction with this update, the developers announced that they will discontinue plans to release the game on PlayStation VR2. Although FRENZIES was initially set to launch on Sony’s VR headset alongside its full release, it remains exclusive to the Meta Quest platform for early access. Nevertheless, nDreams reassured players that they are not completely moving away from the PS VR2, promising that there will be ‘other PS VR2 announcements coming in the near future.’
FRENZIES can currently be accessed on Quest Early Access, with plans for a full release later this year.
