The underground horror exploration title, Tunnels, is set to launch on Quest next month.
Created by Nomad Monkey, Tunnels immerses players in a VR horror experience that takes them deep into an intricate web of derelict mine shafts and tunnels, where the goal is to escape. As they navigate the tight, claustrophobic passages, players will need to scale cliffs, zipline across gaps, and heed their instincts to evade lurking monsters in order to find their way out.
Upon its release, Tunnels will offer a multiplayer mode free of charge, along with an opportunity to experience a trial of its premium single-player mode. In the multiplayer setting, players can team up with three others, whether they’re friends or strangers, to explore the depths together. Players will also have the option to customize their avatars with accessories for a distinctive look while facing the dangers of the underground.
The complete single-player experience can be obtained as DLC for $14.99 USD, promising a narrative-rich journey “into suffocating darkness,” where players will rely on a solitary voice from the radio for survival.
Recently, Tunnels was showcased in the Ruff Talk VR Showcase earlier this month, where additional announcements were made, including a reveal of the launch window for the strategy game Vestiges: Fallen Tribes and a DLC announcement for the Viking rhythm game, Ragnarock.
The game will be accessible on Meta Quest headsets starting May 15, with the multiplayer preview already available to play.
