The arena battleground sequel, GORN 2, is set to launch for Quest and Steam next week, with its PlayStation VR2 version slated to arrive later this year.
Created by Free Lives (known for GORN) in collaboration with Cortopia Studios (famous for Escaping Wonderland), GORN 2 enhances the chaotic combat of its predecessor, offering players the chance to engage in intense battles against fellow gladiators in the afterlife. In this unapologetically bloody vision of paradise, your mission is to carve your way through five gruesome realms, each culminating in a formidable boss battle.
As you navigate this journey, you’ll encounter old foes from the first installment, defeating them once more to earn glory and, more significantly, superior combat gear. GORN 2 also introduces an Endless Game Mode, which allows players to fight indefinitely until they can no longer continue, as well as a Custom Game Mode that enables participants to design their unique arena maps.
In our latest preview, we observed that while some of the enemy AI could use improvement, we were impressed by the range of weapons and the game’s outrageous humor, stating, “The comedic over-the-top brutality ties together well, the visuals look great, and a strong sense of humor ties it all together.”
GORN 2 will officially launch on Steam and Quest on April 17. The release for PlayStation VR2 will follow later this summer.
