The sci-fi shooter titled Harpagun is set to launch on PlayStation VR2 and Steam next week, bringing along a comprehensive campaign experience.
Currently accessible in Early Access on Quest, Something Random’s Harpagun invites players to engage with a post-post-apocalyptic setting presented through on-rails gameplay. Players assume the role of a space scavenger wielding Magnetic Rays in both hands, providing numerous industrial objects and peculiar mushroom-like creatures to be hurled. Check out the trailer below.
Marketed as a complete campaign, Harpagun’s capability for distance-based interactions highlights its physics-driven gameplay as players uncover the events that led to the current state of this abandoned, retro-futuristic world once thriving with life. Complete with dark comedy, energetic tunes, and animations inspired by cartoons, the arcade and arena modes will be available for players seeking additional combat excitement once the main story wraps up.
No specific enhancements for PlayStation VR2 have been revealed as of now, but it’s notable that Something Random’s previous title for the platform, Toy Trains, utilized the Adaptive Triggers feature effectively. While Harpagun represents a significant shift from the tranquil world of track layouts, after three years in development, this unconventional action title pledges to deliver gratifying first-person smashing crafted exclusively for virtual reality.
Harpagun is set to make its debut on PlayStation VR2 and Steam on April 10, while it is currently available in Early Access on Quest.
