Hitman World of Assassination has officially launched on PlayStation VR2.
Accessible now through a paid ‘VR Access’ DLC, this title brings the whole trilogy to PlayStation VR2, featuring the original campaign with 22 missions. Notable enhancements over the standard version include dual-wielding options, room-scale gameplay, positional interactions, and physical items to manipulate. The release follows a recent gameplay trailer that highlighted the ‘The Finish Line’ level from Hitman 2.
This marks the third adaptation of the stealth sandbox series by IO Interactive for VR, following last year’s port for Quest 3 by XR Games and earlier releases for PC VR and PSVR. In a conversation with IO Interactive, they characterized this version as a chance for “redemption” after previous criticisms regarding the PC experience. Our preview suggested that the PS VR2 iteration brings in “welcome changes.”

Interestingly, the VR Access pack mentions PS5 Pro enhancements, despite IO Interactive clarifying that there are no upgrades for the PlayStation VR2 itself. This may pertain solely to the traditional flatscreen experience, as the VR Access store page lists PS VR2 support as “optional.” We have reached out to the developers for further insights and will keep you posted.
Hitman World of Assassination is currently available on PlayStation VR2 through the paid VR Access DLC for $10, while the base PS5 game is now discounted to $28. Hitman WOA Part One – VR2 Edition is also available, and we will be providing a thorough review shortly.
