Vertigo 2: Into the Aether has unveiled a new story trailer as it gears up for its launch this week.
Created by Zach Tsiakalis-Brown at Zulubo Productions, Into the Aether serves as a DLC expansion that takes place shortly after the conclusion of Vertigo 2. In this chapter, players step into the shoes of Brian on a quest for Kauboi, embarking on “an interdimensional expedition to the oldest and most enigmatic universe” in an effort to liberate the last surviving Architect from its confinement, utilizing fresh tools and weaponry.
This expansion introduces two significant new tools to enhance Brian’s adventure. The first is the ‘Void Grappler,’ which can attach to various surfaces, enabling you to “swing around like a maniac.” Additionally, players will gain access to a new defensive tool known as the Void Deflector, which permits you to deflect incoming assaults with precise timing while concurrently accumulating energy for a counterstrike.
Purchasers of the upcoming DLC will also be granted a digital edition of an illustrated short story titled ‘Stay out of the Aether.’ Set before the main events of the Vertigo series, this bonus material includes new concept art along with supplementary content such as a map and a report regarding the Aether.
Into the Aether follows a prior content update for Vertigo 2 that appeared in late 2023, which was initially considered to be the sole significant patch planned. The ‘Bottomless Update’ introduced new playable characters from the main campaign, like Brian, alongside features such as a big head mode, bullet time capabilities, and the finalized version of the level editor.
Vertigo 2: Into the Aether is set to launch on April 25 on SteamVR, while the base game is already available.
