Train Sim World VR: New York has experienced a delay just one day prior to its scheduled release on Quest.
This title, co-developed by Dovetail Games and Just Add Water, was first revealed in August. Following the successful launch of Train Sim World 5 on traditional gaming platforms, this new installment adapts the realistic train simulation experience for Quest headsets, offering a unique journey across New York state. You can check out the original release date announcement trailer below.
Initially scheduled to launch on March 27, the game’s release has been postponed due to “an unforeseen technical issue.” Dovetail Games has communicated that they are diligently working to establish a new release date, with the Quest Store now indicating a new launch time of March 31 at 10 AM PDT.

During its initial announcement, the team highlighted that players would have the opportunity to operate MTA M3A and M7A trains along the iconic Harlem Line. In their preview, the developers noted that players can traverse the tracks of New York while exploring famous stations in Manhattan and The Bronx, mirroring the MTA Harlem Line between Grand Central Terminal and North White Plains.
Players can embark on their journey as rookie engineers through ‘Career Mode,’ taking on various challenges to elevate their experience. Competing against friends on online leaderboards is also a feature, encouraging players to achieve high scores. Additionally, ‘Journey Mode’ allows for exploration and collectible hunting by disembarking at each station. A customizable New York apartment serves as your central hub between missions, adding a personal touch to the gameplay experience.
Train Sim World VR: New York is set to arrive soon on the broader Meta Quest platform.
