The upcoming VR action RPG, Resist, is set to launch on PlayStation VR2 next month, bringing with it a host of new enhancements.
Originally released in 2021, Resist from The Binary Mill immerses players in a battle against an authoritarian regime, allowing them to traverse the open-world city of Concord. As a new member of the resistance named Sam Finch, your mission is to liberate this city from the grip of the Astra Corporation through an engaging story campaign. Below, you can revisit the earlier Steam trailer.
In addition to swinging and shooting through Concord, Resist features various side quests that include tasks like invading data centers and capturing surveillance drones. Players can level up and unlock new abilities and weapons through a dynamic skill tree, manipulate propaganda billboards to sway public opinion, or challenge themselves with skill-based tasks on online leaderboards.
The title initially debuted on Quest 2 in 2021, followed by a Steam version released a year later. This version boasted a complete graphical enhancement, with better textures and upgraded shaders, and was succeeded by a Quest 3 upgrade. The upcoming PS VR2 edition promises immersive haptic feedback along with additional features, although specific details are still under wraps.
The confirmation of Resist’s release marks the second recent PlayStation VR2 adaptation from The Binary Mill. Last month, the studio announced that their cooperative action-adventure game, Into Black, which was released last October on Quest, would also be making its way to Sony’s VR headset. This announcement was accompanied by more insights in an Into Black post on the PS Blog, which reiterated the release date for Resist.
Resist will be available on PlayStation VR2 on April 10, and it is currently playable on Quest and Steam.
