Gamers will embark on a quest to eliminate zombie war criminals in virtual reality starting May 22.
Rebellion is set to launch the title on PlayStation VR2, Quest, and PC VR headsets in collaboration with a studio known as Xtended Realities. Initially, XR Games was responsible for developing the game, and the title is still featured on their official site, despite the studio experiencing significant layoffs last year.
During the announcement of the game’s release date, representatives highlighted that the project is being completed by Xtended Realities, characterized as “an independent video game development studio based in Manchester, UK.” Information on this team is somewhat scarce, aside from their role in providing technical and creative support in a co-development capacity.
The game is set to include ProTubeVR compatibility on both Quest and PC, alongside bHaptics support across PlayStation VR2, Quest, and PC VR. Players can anticipate engaging World War II weaponry and melee combat, as well as the thrilling X-ray Kill Cam feature.
After my colleague Henry Stockdale had the chance to experience the game last year, he praised the action featured in the Sniper Elite spin-off, although he did mention encountering some issues. The game is currently available for pre-order, and we are eager to see how it all comes together upon its release on May 22.
