The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the latest expansion of the classic Zelda franchise and promises to deliver a whole new level of gameplay. One aspect of this game that has piqued many players’ interest is the need for Link to seek assistance from different sages on his journey. This guide will help you locate the Fifth Sage in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a crucial character on your quest.
Where to Find the Fifth Sage in Tears of the Kingdom
The main quest to Find the Fifth Sage is activated only after you’ve made significant progress in the game. You’ll need to complete various other main quests before finally reaching the Depths at the Construct Factory, where you’ll find the fifth sage.
To start this particular quest, explore the Ring Ruins, and talk to Tauro and Paya to let them know what you’ve learned. Once you’ve informed them, Calip will allow you to pass. From where he stands, start through the short canyon. Use the Arise ability to climb the overhead ruins, then take a picture of the stone inscription you find on the wall. Return to Tauro and Paya with the photo, and after a short scene, Tauro leaves with Calip.
Fast travel to Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and talk to Calip, who will inform you that Tauro has headed to Dracozu Lake. The lake is located south of the Spring of Courage, and you’ll need to travel there to find Tauro’s camp. After a conversation, check the treasure chest on the ledge above Tauro to get the Charged Shirt. Exit the cave and continue south along the river, raiding two caves on the way to get the Charged Trousers and Charged Headdress. At the end of the river, continue west to reach another cave. Equip the Charged set, and set a Zonai Charge on the altar while wearing the full set. This action will trigger a scene revealing a new sky island, Thunderhead Isles.
Fast travel to Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and launch into the air to reach Thunderhead Isles to the southeast. While exploring the area, avoid metal gear as there are frequent lightning strikes and rain. You’ll face Construct enemies on patrol, but your summoned sages can distract them. Work your way through Thunderhead Isles to reach Dragonhead Island. For a detailed guide on how to reach Dragonhead Island, check out our guide.
As you arrive on Dragonhead Island, activate Joku-u Shrine, then cut the nearby vines and head straight to reach a wall that tests your strength. Before you proceed, ensure that you have at least 10 hearts. Hold firm against the mechanism, pass the test, and the gate will open, and your hearts will be restored. After passing through the gate, climb the stairs and examine the pedestal to trigger a scene that marks the Secret of the Ring Ruins main quest as complete. It also activates the Guidance from Ages Past main quest and updates the Find the Fifth Sage main quest.
Grab the Zonai relic resting ahead of you and carry it down the slope. Veer right ahead of the drop-off to find an area with Zonai parts. Take a Wing, attach three Fan pieces along its back side, and place the steering column near the center. Attach the Zonai device to the front of your flying contraption, like headlights, and take off toward Lower Hyrule, following the direction indicated by the green light. Fly your contraption safely to Tobio’s Hollow, and remove the device. Carry it by hand to the small altar for a scene that updates the Guidance From Ages Past main mission.
Next, bring the Zonai part into the newly opened passage, set it on the raised pedestal, and trigger another scene. You’ll now find yourself in the Depths, a short distance north of Muokuij Lightroot, where you’ll need to lift the Zonai part to reach a large slab with an armored chest plate. Use the Ultrahand ability to lift the Zonai device, rotate it, and fit it into the slab as a helmet, ensuring that the eyes face outward. Mineru, the fifth sage, will explain the situation and request that you assemble her body by visiting local depots to find parts to repair her.
Finally, you’ve found the Fifth Sage – one of the most critical characters you’ll need on your journey in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, available now on the Nintendo Switch.
