Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is currently developing several Like a Dragon games, and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is one of them. Not much has been revealed about the game yet, but some details have leaked out, including its release date and some gameplay specifics.
The Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name release date was found on the PlayStation Store
According to PSDeals, a site that tracks the PlayStation Store, the game will be released on November 9 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. RGG Studio had previously only said that it would be released in 2023, but the new listing on the PlayStation Store reveals an earlier release date. The game will also support two-player offline multiplayer, but there is no detail on this feature yet.
The game will have two fighting styles: Yakuza and Agent. Players must adapt to the situation strategically and use both fighting styles to defeat hordes of enemies. Yakuza is all about being “wildly aggressive,” while Agent emphasizes speed, precision, and high-tech gadgets. The game will also feature mini-games including a secret arena, karaoke, drinking at a live-action cabaret club, and racing in the pocket circuit. The game will also have a variety of side missions provided by a character named Akame.
The game’s general plot is that Kazama Kiryu faked his own death and is currently living under the name Joryu to protect his family. However, a mysterious person is trying to flush him out of hiding.
Sega and RGG Studio have not yet commented on this leak. Although some information was leaked, much was still expected to come from the RGG Summit held on June 15. Meanwhile, another game, Like a Dragon 8, is slated for release in 2024.
