The Camel’s Diet in Minecraft
In the vast world of Minecraft, new animal mobs are consistently being added with each update. The Camel, being a recent addition, can be found inhabiting desert biomes and are similar to Horses and Llamas in that they can be saddled. Also, Camels, like many other animals, can breed, and like all mobs in the game, they require specific food to enter breeding mode. So, what do Camels eat in Minecraft?
Feeding Camels in Minecraft
Since Camels are naturally found in the desert biome, the range of food they consume is quite limited. If you guessed cactus, then you are correct. Feeding Camels with cactus makes the breeding process quite simple. Users need to find the nearest cactus and add it to their inventory. Then, they can identify a couple of Camels and hold the cactus in their hand. This will attract the Camels towards them, and they can feed the Camels by right-clicking as usual. Once the first Camel is full, they can feed the second Camel to start breeding.
After successful breeding, a newborn Camel will arrive in the world. Feeding the baby Camel using cactus will heal it by two blocks and it will also regenerate health over time as well.
Cacti as a Camel’s Natural Diet
In real life, Camels are known to eat cacti. They have a resilient digestive system which allows them to digest prickly plants effortlessly. Minecraft’s developers kept this in mind when incorporating Camels into the game, thus making their in-game behavior similar to in real life. Unlike Rabbits, which breed with carrots in Minecraft, which is not good for them, Camels in the game, breed with cactus, which is quite fitting.
