Marvel Snap Publisher, Nuverse, Announces New Game: Bleach: Soul Resonance

Nuverse, the publishers behind the hit card game Marvel Snap from Second Dinner, are venturing into a new intellectual property with their latest game, Bleach: Soul Resonance. Based on the popular Shonen Jump manga series by Tite Kubo, Bleach: Soul Resonance is an action-packed 3D game that revolves around swordplay. Throughout its run from 2001 to 2016, the Bleach manga series was a major success for Shonen Jump. Furthermore, the recent release of an anime series based on the Thousand Year Blood War arc has revived interest in the franchise.

Nuverse is already well-known for publishing Second Dinner’s critically acclaimed CCG Marvel Snap, so the bar is set high for their adaptation of the Bleach series. While this won’t be their first time tackling an anime or manga IP, the success of Marvel Snap has undoubtedly raised expectations.

Similar to their previous releases like One Piece: Blood Routes, Nuverse is placing a strong emphasis on graphics in Bleach: Soul Resonance. Nuverse has made a name for itself by handling various famous IPs, including One Piece and the well-known Command & Conquer spin-off Red Alert. Following the immense success of Marvel Snap, it seems Nuverse has no plans to abandon their catalog of popular gaming, anime, and manga IPs. Although they are venturing into a new original IP with Dragonheir: Silent Gods, the company is committed to their established franchises.

While some may see this as a cautious approach, there is also a noticeable trend in the industry towards 3D action games for anime and manga IPs. Previously, these franchises were primarily limited to gacha or 2D titles, but Nuverse is pushing the boundaries by delivering a fully immersive 3D experience comparable to console games, building on the success of One Piece: Blood Routes.
