Xbox Community Welcomes Final Fantasy XIV
Xbox head Phil Spencer expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s great to be here with so many warriors of light. Thank you for the very warm welcome. The Xbox community is passionate about games, and like so many players around the world, the Final Fantasy series is one that gets lots of love from Team Xbox. And we’re very happy to announce the Xbox version of Final Fantasy XIV with my friend Yoshida-San today. Together with his team, we are bringing the best online experience of this game to Xbox fans everywhere, and through crossplay, you can experience Final Fantasy XIV with old and new players alike.”
Spencer emphasized that this is a significant moment in their relationship with the Final Fantasy team, hinting at the possibility of more Final Fantasy games coming to Xbox in the future.
Features and Release Details
While the game will be playable on both Xbox Series X and Series S, only the Series X version will support 4K resolution. The Xbox version of Final Fantasy XIV is scheduled for release in spring 2024. Before the release, there will be an open beta for players to participate in. The Dawntrail expansion will be available on Xbox Series X/S at launch.
