How to Install Mods in Project Zomboid

Here are the methods to install mods in Project Zomboid for both Steam and GOG or HumbleBundles players.

For Steam Players

If you’re playing Project Zomboid on Steam, installing mods is a breeze with just a single mouse click.

To begin, select Project Zomboid in your Steam library and click on the Workshop tab located below the Play button. You can also access Project Zomboid’s workshop via browsers.

Once you’re in the Workshop, you can browse and choose any mod you like. Click on a mod to access its detail page and then click the Subscribe button.

If you’re in-game, close it to allow Steam to automatically download and install the subscribed mods for you.

The mods are downloaded and installed in the following directories:

Once you have the mod files, copy the mod folders to the mods folder in the Zomboid folder. The mods folder can be found at:
