Here’s a look at Call of Duty: Warzone’s “urban battleground”, Urzikstan

The Call of Duty team has revealed details about the upcoming Warzone map, Urzikstan. This new map, described as an “urban battleground,” will be introduced in Call of Duty: Next with the first season of Modern Warfare 3 scheduled for release in December.

Urzikstan is located in Western Asia and shares its borders with the Republic of Adal. Players familiar with Call of Duty will recognize this region as the setting for Warzone’s Al Mazrah map.

Urzikstan will feature 11 major points of interest including Levin Resort, Popov Power, Orlov Military Base, Seaport District, Urzikstan Cargo, Old Town, Low Town, Hadiqa Farms, Zaravan City, Zaravan Suburbs, and Shahin Manor. Take a look at the flythrough video below for an overview of Urzikstan:

The Warzone team explained that Urzikstan has recently gained independence from the rule of dictator Roman Barkov, thanks to a joint operation involving the CIA, SAS, and the Urzikstan Liberation Force led by Farah Karim following the Tobrak Prison Break.

However, even with Barkov gone, new threats have emerged. The Allegiance and the ultranationalist forces under Viktor Zakhaev have infiltrated the area. Some of Barkov’s former soldiers have joined these factions and are seeking revenge, making it important to remain vigilant.

The Call of Duty team urges players, as part of an elite multinational force, to shape the fate of the region. They acknowledge the difficulty of the task but express confidence in the players’ abilities.

More information about the upcoming Warzone map will be revealed closer to its launch later this year. In the meantime, the beta for Modern Warfare 3 is on the horizon.
