Hello Xbox Insiders! We have an exciting new Xbox Update Preview rolling out to the Alpha ring. It’s important to note that while some of the updates in these preview builds may not have noticeable changes to the user interface, they are crucial for ensuring a high-quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

Even when there are minimal changes to the UI, we continue to post these release notes to keep you informed about upcoming updates for your device. Read on for all the details!

System Update Details:

• OS version released: XB_FLT_2310ZN25398.2482.231004-2200
• Available: 2 p.m. PT – October 6, 2023
• Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 7, 2023

Implemented Fixes

Thanks to the hard work of our Xbox engineers, we are pleased to announce that the following fixes have been implemented in this build:

Installation

• Fixed an issue where the Microsoft Store would get stuck at 100% during updates or installations.

Manage Queue

• Fixed a problem where the border around “When games and apps are installing, you’ll see them here” could extend off-screen.

Mouse and Keyboard

• Fixed mouse click issues in various supported titles.

System

• Made various updates to ensure accurate display of local languages throughout the console.
  • Note: Users participating in Preview may encounter some “odd” text on the console. For more information, visit our FAQ page.

Known Issues

We understand that some issues have been previously reported in Xbox Insider Release Notes. Rest assured that these items are not being ignored, but it may take our engineers some more time to find a solution.

Audio

• We have received reports of users experiencing intermittent audio issues across the dashboard, games, and apps. If you are facing such issues, please ensure that you have the latest firmware updates for your TV and other equipment. If unsure, contact the manufacturer for assistance.
  • Note: If you continue to experience issues after updating the firmware, please submit feedback via “Report a Problem” immediately. Select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues” and provide as much information as possible:
    • When did the issue start?
    • Did you lose audio in the game/app only or system audio as well?
    • Did changing the audio format resolve the issue? If so, what was the format before and after?
    • Does rebooting resolve the issue?
    • Provide details about your setup including equipment and layout.
    • Any additional information that can help us reproduce the problem.

Keyboard Button Mapping for Xbox Controllers

• If you change your keyboard language settings while the Xbox Accessories app is open, the change will take effect after quitting the app or rebooting your console.

Networking

• We are currently investigating reports of the console not connecting to the network as expected when booting up. If you encounter this issue, please report it via “Report a Problem” as soon as possible.

To ensure that we stay informed about your issues, please continue to use the “Report a Problem” feature. While we may not be able to respond to everyone, the data we collect is valuable for finding resolutions.
