Honkai: Star Rail’s endgame content includes the Simulated Universe, a roguelike game mode that allows you to gain strong buffs for your characters as you fight tough bosses and enemies. Here’s our guide on World 8 of the Simulated Universe in Honkai: Star Rail.
How to clear World 8 of the Simulated Universe in Honkai: Star Rail
To unlock World 8 of the Simulated Universe, you’ll have to have completed the prior worlds before it. As with the other Simulated Universes, each mob or elite fight will allow you to earn random “blessings,” buffs for your characters to help them against the final boss fight at the end of the run. World 8 of the Simulated Universe has four difficulty levels, ranging from Level 60 enemies to Level 90 enemies. I chose the hardest difficulty for the sake of this guide, but any tips for this guide should still apply to easier difficulties.
World 8 of the Simulated Universe primarily includes enemies who are weak to the Electric, Wind, and Imaginary elements. The final boss is actually Yanqing, who has three different phases to his fight. You’ll need a strong element spread when fighting this boss.
Recommended team comps & paths
- I used a team that consisted of Jing Yuan / Topaz / Tingyun / Fu Xuan. Jing Yuan and Tingyun are more than capable of weakness-breaking Yanqing, while Topaz buffs the follow-up attacks of Jing Yuan while contributing high damage herself. Fu Xuan is overall a solid sustain unit, but you can bring someone like Luocha instead for more weakness-breaking potential.
- Blade / Luocha / Welt / Bronya is a classic team that will fare incredibly well against Yanqing, covering two out of his three weaknesses. Blade and Welt can dish out some insane damage, while Bronya buffs your team. Luocha is our healer and can contribute towards weakness-breaking Yanqing while also generating skill points.
- Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae / Tingyun / Luocha / Pela is another great team against Yanqing. Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is likely one of the strongest choices you can make for a DPS character in this Simulated Universe, thanks to his high Blast damage and overall crazy numbers. Because Dan Heng takes up so many skill points, his support core should be surrounded by skill point generators, such as Tingyun, Luocha, and Pela.

How to defeat Yanqing in Honkai: Star Rail Simulated Universe World 8
For the purpose of this guide, I used “The Elation” blessings as it fit my team. The first phase of the fight is relatively simple, although you will need to watch out for the “Cascading Laceration” attack, a major attack that can deal heavy damage to your team. Try not to take too much time to defeat this phase to avoid this dangerous attack.
In the second phase of the fight, Yanqing will summon his Flying Swords. These are extra monsters that can deal damage to a single target. Leaving these swords alive, however, will really rack up the damage, so you’ll need to defeat these swords as fast as you can. Each sword has a hidden weakness. However, each sword will be weak to one of the following elements: Lightning, Wind, and Imaginary. They will not be weak to any other element.
You can still kill these swords without breaking their weaknesses. Therefore, we recommend saving your path resonance for when Yanqing spawns these swords. This will allow you to take out most of their HP, allowing you to easily dispatch the swords with AoE damage. There’s something else to keep in mind about these swords as well. Whenever any sword is alive, Yanqing’s weaknesses will be blocked. This means you cannot weakness break Yanqing until each sword is defeated.
During the third phase of the fight, Yanqing will summon four more Flying Swords. However, Yanqing will also gain access to a different attack. Two turns after summoning his Flying Swords, he can unleash an attack called “Aethereal Dreamflux.” This attack deals more damage to your team based on the number of Flying Swords still alive.
It’s crucial that you defeat at least half of the Flying Swords, as this attack can devastate your team. After he performs this attack, he will remove all the Flying Swords that are still alive, but it’s still recommended to destroy all of them if you can before the Aethereal Dreamflux attack.
That’s all you need to know about the Yanqing boss fight in Honkai: Star Rail. Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.5 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android.
