Ultrawings 2 Accidentally Released Early Without Day One Update

The Early Release of Ultrawings 2 on PSVR 2

Ultrawings 2, the highly anticipated aircraft sim game for PSVR 2, has made an unexpected early appearance on the PlayStation Store, landing nine days before its scheduled release date.

Due to this unforeseen early release, the game is currently missing its day one patch. However, it’s worth noting that the issues addressed in this patch are relatively minor and have minimal impact on the game’s performance.

The Ultrawings 2 “day one” patch should be out in a few days

Originally, the day one patch was meant to be available alongside the game’s release on February 3. However, Bit Planet Games, the developer, has now assured players that the patch has been submitted and should be available in a matter of days. When asked whether players should wait for the patch before diving into the game, the developer emphasized that the game is still fully enjoyable in its current state and that the update only addresses minor issues.

One of the issues that slipped through the testing process is a control problem with the HOTAS setup. While waiting for the update, players can use workarounds such as using the rocker on the throttle to correct the inverted yaw controls. Additionally, the instruction card for camera reset is incorrect, and players need to hold down the Options button instead. Unfortunately, the brake button remains faulty, but Bit Planet Games has committed to fixing this issue in the near future.

The developer is still unsure how the early release occurred, but despite this, player feedback for the game has been overwhelmingly positive, earning a remarkable 4.9/5 rating on the PlayStation Store.

Ultrawings 2 is set to deliver 40-60 hours of gameplay, featuring six new aircraft and hundreds of missions within its captivating island-themed world.
