Democratic Detonation
Democratic Detonation is the second Premium Warbond to be introduced in Helldivers 2 post-launch, following the Cutting Edge Warbond back in March.
Democratic Detonation offers new cosmetics for your character and, most importantly, provides access to new weapons to aid in the battle to save Super Earth. If you’re hoping for new Stratagems, you won’t find them in this Warbond.
In this Helldivers 2 guide, we will delve into the release details of the Democratic Detonation Warbond, its cost, and what it includes.
Democratic Detonation Warbond release time: When does the new Helldivers 2 update launch?
The Democratic Detonation Warbond for Helldivers 2 will be released on Thursday, April 11. While an official time for the update has not been announced by PlayStation Studios and Arrowhead Games, we can estimate based on previous releases.
Helldivers 2 was launched at 4 a.m. EST on Feb. 8, with most patches following within two to three hours of that time frame. Considering the release time of Cutting Edge, the previous Warbond, was around 6:30 a.m. EST, it is safe to assume that Democratic Detonation Warbond will follow a similar window.
- Between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. PDT for the west coast of North America
- Between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. EDT for the east coast of North America
- Between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. GMT for the U.K.
- Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. CET for western Europe / Paris
- Between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. JST for Tokyo
We will provide updates if Arrowhead Games announces an official time for the Warbond’s release.
How much does the Democratic Detonation Warbond cost in Helldivers 2?
Arrowhead Games and Sony have not specified the cost of the new Warbond. However, based on the pricing of previous Premium Warbonds – Steeled Veterans and Cutting Edge – which were priced at 1,000 Super Credits (or $9.99), it is likely that Democratic Detonation will be in the same price range.
The Premium Warbonds typically offer four new weapons (similar to what Democratic Detonation includes) and a new grenade type, making 1,000 Super Credits the standard rate for Warbonds in Helldivers 2.
It’s important to note that Warbonds do not automatically grant rewards. Similar to Battle Pass systems in games like Fortnite or Destiny 2, players pay for the opportunity to unlock items from the Warbond as they play, earn medals, and purchase desired items.
Unlike season passes in other live-service games, Warbonds in Helldivers 2 do not expire.
What’s new in the Democratic Detonation Warbond for Helldivers 2?
The Democratic Detonation Warbond introduces four new weapons, three capes, three armor sets, a new grenade, and various other items like player cards and emotes.
- The BR-14 Adjudicator Rifle is a fast-firing marksman rifle capable of penetrating armor.
- The R-36 Eruptor Rifle is a hybrid weapon that fires exploding shells with a sniper-like scope.
- The CB-9 Exploding Crossbow shoots explosives instead of bolts.
- The GP-31 Grenade Pistol looks like a pistol but shoots grenades, requiring a reload after each shot.
The armor sets include the CE-07 Demolition Specialist (light), CE-27 Ground Breaker (medium), and FS-55 Devastator (heavy). The new grenade is the G-123 Thermite Grenade.
This Warbond is particularly effective against Terminids, focusing on dealing with bugs unlike the previous bond, which targeted Automatons.
