Yacht Club Games Announces Exciting Updates
Yacht Club Games recently held a Direct-style presentation to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Shovel Knight, where they made several exciting announcements, including a new game in the works.
The new Shovel Knight game, although unnamed and not yet showcased, is confirmed to be in development by Yacht Club. The studio hinted that clues about the game can be found in other Shovel Knight titles like Shovel Knight Dig, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, and Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove.
According to Yacht Club, they are dedicated to creating an experience that not only pays homage to the Shovel Knight legacy but also introduces innovative gameplay mechanics. This upcoming game is not just another sequel, but a fresh adventure that will propel Shovel Knight into a whole new dimension of gaming.
While details about the new game are still under wraps, Yacht Club did unveil an enhanced version of the original game titled Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX. This definitive edition of the indie classic from 2014 includes 20 new playable characters, a rewind feature, save states, online multiplayer, cheats, and more. The release window and platforms for Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX have not been announced yet. Additionally, Yacht Club mentioned free DLC updates for Shovel Knight Dig and Pocket Dungeon.
Updates on Mina the Hollower
Yacht Club Games also provided an update on their upcoming action-adventure game, Mina the Hollower. A new trailer showcasing gameplay highlights revealed that the project is nearing completion of the initial pass on all level content. The studio plans to spend the following months refining and polishing the gameplay. Yacht Club mentioned that the game has expanded beyond expectations since its announcement in 2022, now featuring an expansive overworld and RPG elements.
