No major issues today; Connections seems to have eased up a bit after last week’s challenging puzzles. The Blue group was especially enjoyable. I always appreciate homophones, and today’s theme showcased animal-related words like BARE/BEAR, DEAR/DEER, MOUSSE/MOOSE, and (presumably) NEW/GNU. It took me a bit to figure out the last one, honestly.
If it weren’t for process of elimination, I’m not sure I would have solved the Purple group. However, the Green and Yellow groups were more straightforward, so I didn’t need to stress about the final one.

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is a popular word game developed by the New York Times. The game requires players to identify groups of four items that share a common theme or attribute. Each group varies in difficulty level, with Green being easy, Yellow a bit more challenging, Blue often tough, and Purple usually very difficult.
One advantage is that technically, you don’t have to solve the final group, as you can deduce it through process of elimination. Additionally, players are allowed up to four mistakes, providing some margin for error.
Unlike simpler games like Wordle, NYT Connections offers more complexity and potential tricks to trip up players. Watch out for word games like homophones that can disguise the answers.
You can play it for free on desktop or mobile through the NYT Games website.
