Original Story from June 25, 2024 at 7:36 a.m. CT:

Deadrop studio Midnight Society has decided to sever ties with co-founder and streamer Guy Beahm, also known as Dr. Disrespect. This decision comes after investigating allegations surrounding Beahm that emerged in connection with his Twitch ban in 2020.

On Friday, June 21, former Twitch account director Cody Conners made a statement on Twitter implicating Beahm in inappropriate behavior, leading to his ban. Conners stated, “He [referring to Beahm] got banned because he was caught sexting a minor in the then-existing Twitch Whispers product. He was trying to meet up with her at TwitchCon. The powers that be could read in plain text. Case closed, gang.”

Although Beahm did not specifically address these allegations, the situation escalated with Midnight Society choosing to end its partnership with Beahm due to the mounting evidence. The studio released a statement regarding their decision:

“On Friday evening, we were made aware of concerning allegations against one of our co-founders, Guy Beahm, also known as Dr. Disrespect. After careful consideration and discussions with relevant parties, we have taken the decision to terminate our relationship with Guy Beahm immediately.

“This decision was made in accordance with our principles and standards as a studio, ensuring we act with integrity and respect for all individuals involved, including our team of developers, their families, and our player community.”

Further developments from previous incidents led to Twitch banning Beahm in 2020, which resulted in legal action and subsequent settlement. The reasons behind the ban were not explicitly disclosed by Twitch at the time, but it was part of their enforcement of Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Beahm’s lawsuit against Twitch was eventually resolved with neither party admitting fault.

Despite Beahm’s insistence on his innocence in various incidents, Midnight Society chose to part ways following recent allegations related to his past behaviors. The details of the situation may remain undisclosed due to legal constraints.
