Nintendo playtesting mystery new Switch Online feature this month with up to 10K people


Nintendo has recently announced a mysterious new Switch Online feature that will be playtested later this month, with an invitation extended to up to 10,000 participants. This new venture, named the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program, is shrouded in secrecy, with Nintendo only revealing that it is “related to a new feature for the Nintendo Switch Online service.”


To participate, individuals must have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership and will need to download “exclusive software” onto their Switch console. Those interested in joining must be at least 18 years old and have a Nintendo Account registered in select countries – Japan, the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain. Sign-ups open on October 10th at 6pm PDT and close on October 15th, with the playtest scheduled to run from October 23rd to November 5th.
