How to max out all Persona 5 Royal Confidants

Below are some tips that are useful when trying to max out all Confidants in a run. The higher up the tip is on the list the more impactful it is on leveling up Confidants. You’ll want to make sure to take advantage of all of these tips as maxing all Confidants in one playthrough is not an easy task.

Select the correct dialogue choices

By far the biggest influence you can have on progressing a Confidant’s level is picking the correct dialogue choices. Every time you hang out with a Confidant they will ask for your input on a variety of things. Choosing the correct options rewards additional social points.

Always use a Persona that matches a Confidant’s Arcana

Whenever you hang out with any Confidant, you should always have a Persona that matches their Arcana. Doing this increases the number of social points you’ll earn when speaking to them. The level of the Persona doesn’t matter, so it’s best to summon a cheap low-level one.

Complete palaces as fast as possible

Completing palaces as fast as possible helps max out Confidants in Persona 5 Royal. Every palace will have a set date you have to clear it by, but this date doesn’t change if you finish it early. Therefore it’s best to clear a palace as fast as possible as doing so gives you more free time to spend with your Confidants.

Prioritize Confidants above all else

Naturally, you need to complete the palace you are on first but, after that, there is nothing more important than your Confidants. As soon as you clear the palace, your main focus should be leveling up Confidants. The only exception to this is if you need to level up Social Stats to continue ranking up a specific Confidant.

Max All Confidants Persona 5 Royal Fortune Chihaya Mifune

Chihaya (Fortune) is your friend

On 06/22 you’ll be introduced to a new character, Chihaya Mifune. She is a fortune teller and a useful ally to max all Confidants in Persona 5 Royal. After 06/22, you’ll need to visit her three times and purchase a Holy Stone from her for ¥100,000 to unlock her. Getting Chihaya to level 5 should be a priority, as this unlocks the Affinity Reading ability. This ability lets you deepen your bond with any Confidant of choice without hanging out with them. Once this is unlocked, you’ll rarely have to use up time to further the progression of Confidants that aren’t ready to level up.

Use gifts

Technically speaking, you never need to give a gift to max all Confidants. However, doing so can be useful if you messed up and picked the wrong dialogue option during an event. You can purchase gifts from various stores ranging in price from ¥500 up to ¥78,000. Once purchased, these gifts can be given to Confidants during hangout events.

Play New Game+

Realistically, most players won’t be able to max all Confidants in their first playthrough of Persona 5 Royal. Doing so requires exceptional time management and planning. However, there’s an easier option for the average player. After finishing Persona 5 Royal, you can begin a New Game+ playthrough. In this second playthrough, all of your Social Stats carry over, giving you more time to focus on leveling Confidants. Using the above tips in a New Game+ playthrough will make maxing all Confidants very easy.

Persona 5 Royal can be purchased on Steam.
