How to build the best TAQ-56 loadout for Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play

If you want to climb the ranks in Modern Warfare 2, you’re going to need the correct class to fight for that all important SR. The TAQ-56 is the meta assault rifle that’s used among professional players and the competitive community. The attachments have changed slightly as the game has progressed, but the TAQ-56 loadout is just as powerful in Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play.

If you use the TAQ-56 in public matches, the attachments you’re used to may be different to the ones you need to use in Ranked Play. If you want to play like the pros, you’ll find the assault rifle class you need to take over the lobby below.

How to build the best TAQ-56 loadout for Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play

  • Barrel: 17.5” Tundra Pro Barrel
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
  • Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip
  • Stock: TV Cardinal Stock
  • Ammunition: 5.56 Armor Piercing

First up, the 17.5” Tundra Pro barrel boosts your damage range and bullet velocity, both important features for fights at range. For greater accuracy, the FSS Sharkfin 90 underbarrel increases aiming idle stability, with no added penalties. Both the Demo Cleanshot Grip and the TV Cardinal stock quicken mobility and aim down sight speed. Last but not least, loading your gun with 5.56 Armor Piercing bullets enhances bullet penetration through surfaces.

The pros generally don’t use weapon tuning, but if you need extra help with accuracy and speed, making those extra tweaks could be beneficial.

Secondary and grenades

With your TAQ-56 loadout for Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, you should use a pistol. The X12 is the current choice among the pros. In addition, use a Semtex and a Stun Grenade to assist you in gaining some extra kills and information on your opponents whereabouts. Due to the CDL rule set being active, there aren’t many perks to choose from. Battle Hardened and Bomb Squad are strong options, while Focus can help reduce weapon flinch when shooting long range with your assault rifle.
