How to complete the Death of the Author substory in Like a Dragon: Ishin
Your quarters at the Teradaya inn are upstairs. There’s not much else happening on the building’s second level, but one of the establishment’s fellow guests is an exception. As you exit your room, you can head left and follow the hallways in that direction to find him.
To complete the Death of the Author substory, you need to help the resident writer bring his concepts to print. This will require you to make sensible suggestions, once he presents you with each new dilemma.
When you first meet the author, he needs you to help him decide which animal to use for the protagonist in his current work. You have a few choices: cat, dog, or pig. Multiple answers work, though “cat” seems to be the correct response. Your reward in any event, the next time you visit, is a Broken Compass.
For the man’s next problem, he can’t settle on a nickname for his main character. You have several choices here. One that definitely works well is “Botch-chan!” When you come back for a report on how things went, you’ll receive Fine Silk Fabric. Then, for the third prompt, answer “Heart.” Check back in with the author later to receive your final reward: European Fabric, along with the usual Virtue.
Like a Dragon: Ishin is available on Steam and the Xbox marketplace.
