Finding new armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most fun things to do. You never know what’s going to be in a chest, and finding a new armor piece is amazing because it might solve an issue you didn’t even know you have. You find the climbing gear, for instance, and suddenly climbing becomes just that little bit easier. So how about finding yourself some new armor? Here’s our guide on how to get Royal Guard Uniform set in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to get Royal Guard Uniform set in Tears of the Kingdom

The first thing to know about this set is that it’s all in-and-around Hyrule Castle, so you can fast travel there if you need to. The first piece of the Royal Guard Uniform armor we can find is in Princess Zelda’s room. To get to Princess Zelda’s room you’re going to need to head to the locations specified in the map below, which you can do by climbing up there from around the side, or from gliding to the left of the Sanctum.

Once you’re in Zelda’s room, you’ll find the cap of the Royal Guard armor in the corner next to some rubble.

Royal boots

The next piece of the armor is underneath the Shrine that you can find in Hyrule Castle. You can teleport here, then jump down and enter the door that’s in front of the Shrine in the wall. This will lead you down to a library, in which some of the bookcases are fake. You can move them with Ultrahand, and behind the one directly under the door where you enter is where you find the Royal Guard set’s boots. You can use the mini-map in the image below to see the location if you’re struggling to find it.

Royal Guard Uniform

The final piece of the Royal Guard Uniform armor is actually below Hyrule Castle, and you can access it from the ground. You need to enter Hyrule Castle’s ground, then enter the first door you see on your right. In here you should see two wooden gates, you can move these with Ultrahand, and then proceed inward. You’re going to want to take a left as soon as you come to the corridor, and then follow the stairs downwards on your left. Continue until you reach a room, there you will need to Ascend up the boards to your right, then continue to the other side of the room. Follow the path to the end where you’ll see a chest, and that’s where the final piece of the Royal Guard armor is.
