Baizhu is a beloved character in Genshin Impact, known for his unique abilities and backstory. As the second Dendro healer and the first to make Dendro shields, Baizhu is dedicated to keeping allies alive and healthy.

Abilities
Baizhu has many related abilities in Genshin Impact. His Elemental Skill, Universal Diagnosis, sends out a Gossamer Sprite that attacks 3 nearby opponents and then returns to the character, healing the party. The amount recovered is based on a percentage of Baizhu’s max HP. If there are no enemies nearby, the Sprite simply returns and heals.

Holistic Revivification, Baizhu’s Burst, creates a Dendro shield around himself that stays when switching him out. The shield regenerates every 2.5 seconds and sends out a Spiritvein every time it does, which heals the on-field character. Lastly, his exploration passive, Herbal Nourishment, allows him to concoct remedies from various materials you can pick up in the world, healing around 2.5% of his max HP for each one collected.

Builds
Baizhu’s specialty is in supporting allies. For the best utility support, a 4-set Deepwood Memories is recommended, while putting in HP main stats on the timepiece, goblet, and headpiece is enough for high healing with his skills. Alternatives are Ocean-Hued Clam, Noblesse Oblige, or even 2-sets of Tenacity of the Millelith and Vourukasha’s Glow.

For DPS, you can set him up for a Spread team with the Gilded Dreams set or drive Dendro reactions with a Deepwood set. Main stats for the Spread team would be Elemental Mastery, Dendro DMG Bonus, Crit Rate/DMG. The driver build would focus on 3x EM, ER, HP and Crit DMG/Rate and ATK for Spread.

Weapons
Jadefall’s Splendor is Baizhu’s signature weapon and best-in-slot for him, while the best-in-slot for DPS Baizhu is Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds. For support Baizhu, weapons like Favonius Codex or Prototype Amber are good choices.

Backstory
Baizhu’s backstory reveals how he became a doctor. He was born in a small village in Liyue that was devastated by the plague, which killed his parents. His master, who was practicing medicine, stopped it from spreading further. Baizhu decided to follow his master and learn the art of medicine. Although his master could cure many illnesses and ailments, he collapsed from exhaustion due to all the sickness he took on according to a contract. This made Baizhu realize that there was one ailment that medicine had not conquered: death.

After his master passed, Baizhu started the Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue. He struggled to get the business started because it required an auspicious day to be open, according to local laws. Despite this, a distraught mother brought her sick child to the still-closed pharmacy a few nights before it was set to open. Neighbors were surprised to see it open the next morning, days early and without fanfare. Changsheng, Baizhu’s snake companion, chided him for not following the law, but Baizhu replied that they did not need to ask the gods or use divination any longer. Bubu Pharmacy became successful, thanks to Baizhu’s fair prices and effective remedies.

Baizhu is also known for his shrewd business acumen. Although his prices are fair, the “Everlasting Incense” is priced at 2,990,000 Mora, even with a discount. Nevertheless, his customers value the quality and effectiveness of his remedies and are willing to pay the extra cost.
