The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Dev Reportedly Making Another LOTR Game

Despite the dreadful response to The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, maker Daedelic Entertainment seems undeterred in their pursuit of their latest project. The studio is reportedly working on another Lord of the Rings game with the code name It’s Magic.

Details on It’s Magic

IGN discovered that the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany website has a posting about It’s Magic. The website summary mentions that the game will take players to a world full of “mythical creatures and spells” where they will play from a character’s viewpoint that has yet to be explored. Fans of the fantasy story and 3D action-adventure games will enjoy It’s Magic’s gameplay.

Daedelic was approved funding of almost $2.2 million for the project from June 1, 2022 to August 31, 2024. Not much else is known about the specifics of It’s Magic.

Daedelic apologized for the negative feedback of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum but has yet to declare any news regarding their new project. Critics gave the game an average score of 40 on OpenCritic. This bad publicity has led some people to doubt that the new game will be much better.

This project might be the mysterious fifth Lord of the Rings game that Embracer Group is planning. There are already four planned games: Return to Moria, Gollum, Heroes of Middle-earth, and an unnamed Wētā Workshop mystery game. It’s possible that It’s Magic could be the last release that was talked about earlier.
