Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Jumps To The Steam Dimension This July

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the 2021 dimension-hopping adventure, is finally heading to Steam on July 26th, allowing PC gamers to experience the acclaimed action platformer for the first time. This marks their first appearance on PC and adds exclusive features such as unlocked framerate, ultra-wide monitor support, and ray-traced reflections/shadows. Furthermore, developers have promised performance-enhancing upscaling for Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, and Intel XeSS, making the game a treat for gamers. It’s safe to say that the game will be a feast for the eyes, thanks to its picturesque vistas and vibrant, detailed characters.

Developer Nixxes Software, a Dutch video game company, is responsible for porting the game to PC and is confident that the game will be an excellent experience on Steam. Nixxes has previously worked on other high-profile PC ports. Their expertise spans games such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution, and many more.

In terms of the story, players will aid Ratchet and Clank in their efforts to block their previous nemesis, Dr. Nefarious, from dominating the multiverse with the help of Ratchet’s alternate universe counterpart, Rivet. Andrew Reiner, former Editor-in-chief of Game Informer, described the latest iteration as “a continuation of the series that is just a joy to play. It steals your eye with its stunning vistas, makes you care about the characters, and is loaded to the hilt with fan service (especially in the alternate dimension and a weapon you have to assemble).” We couldn’t agree more as we gave the game a 9 out of 10 in our review.

Overall, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, with its unique story, immersive gameplay, and visually stunning graphics that will undoubtedly entice a new era of audience on Steam.
