Diablo 4 – Secret Of The Spring Side Quest And Emote Guide

One of the new features in Diablo 4 are the abundant side quests. While some ask you to simply annihilate the forces of Hell, others require you to solve a riddle or two. This side quest called “Secret of the Spring” is one of those which needs your wit and some patience. It can be found north of Kyovashad, the first major hub city in the game. Let’s see how to complete it.

How to Complete the Secret of the Spring

The note can be found near the entrance to the Forsaken Quarry Dungeon.

If you’re ready to start, the first thing you need to do is discover the riddle that starts this particular quest. The riddle can be found north of Kyovashad, near the entrance to the Forsaken Quarry Dungeon. Get to the location marked by the red circle in the above map to retrieve the notes. Reading it will start the quest and mark a small area on the top area of the map.

The spring itself can be found just a bit north of where the note is picked up.

The riddle goes like this: “Beacon of warmth in winter’s embrace, patience rewarded by nature’s own grace.” Once you reach the location on the map indicated by the dotted pattern, search for the small pool of water which is the spring. You are required to use a precise emote here, that, at first glance, might be difficult to understand.

You need to use the Wait Emote next to the small spring to get the chest to spawn.

Contrary to what the clue in the riddle suggests, you won’t find the correct emote on the default emote wheel. Instead, press the button for “Customize” and navigate down the list of unassigned emotes until you see the one labeled “Wait.” Once added, use the Wait emote in front of the spring to get the chest to spawn. While your loot could vary, the chest contained gold and resources for me. You will finish the quest once you open the chest.
