Diablo 4 has two expansions in development, Blizzard confirms

Diablo General Manager, Rod Fergusson, highlighted that Diablo 4 is expected to have two expansions. In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Fergusson discussed the live-service format of the game, indicating its ability to allow substantial updates. “As I sit here we’re about to launch the main game, we’re finishing up season one, we’re working on season two, we’re working on expansion one, we’re kicking off expansion two,” Fergusson said. “All that’s happening right now and we haven’t even launched the game yet.”

Diablo 4 Review – One Main Issue…

Diablo 3’s content updates were criticized by Blizzard for being insufficient. As a result, Diablo 4 was developed as a live-service game. “We’re going to be supporting Diablo 4 for years to come [with] very rich seasons, much richer than we had in Diablo 3,” Fergusson stated. Diablo 2 and its predecessor, Diablo 3, received one major expansion each, and Diablo 4 is already ahead of the curve with two in the works.

Last month, Blizzard published a blog post outlining its post-launch plans for Diablo 4. The game is now fully available to players, following early access from the prior week. In an ongoing Blizzard event, players have already reached level 100 in hardcore mode.
