Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gameplay Trailer Reveals A Much Bigger World But No Release Date

Dragon’s Dogma 2: An Overview of the Upcoming Game

The highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2 was just showcased during Capcom’s event, and we’ve got the inside scoop. While much is still unknown, we can share some exciting tidbits about the game, including its world size and physics-based gameplay.

Dragon’s Dogma was initially released with moderate success but has since gained a loyal fan base. Original game director Hideaki Itsuno is overseeing the making of this sequel, which will run on the RE engine and feature AI and physics-based tech, alongside a broad range of weapon types and classes.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be set in a world that’s four times larger than its predecessor, according to Itsuno. While the original map was already expansive, the sequel may feature mounts and modern fast travel options. Additionally, Itsuno hinted at new gameplay featuring “immersive physics,” such as destroying a bridge or pulling on a monster’s leg, but details remain scarce.

The game will be a single-player open-world RPG, which enables players to bring their Pawn (NPC companion) and up to two Pawns of other players, as long as they’re playing the game. Itsuno expressed that players can expect new vocations and monster types, such as Medusa. Furthermore, two new characters were revealed on the game’s cover art: Ulrika, a bow wielder, and Nadinia, a high priestess from the Beastren race.

Capcom confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S, but kept the release date under wraps for now.
