How to Obtain Museum Kudos in Old School RuneScape
If you want access to Fossil Island and to complete the Bone Voyage quest in Old School RuneScape, you need to obtain Museum Kudos. Luckily, there are several ways to obtain them. This guide will walk you through each method.
Natural History Quiz
To begin the natural history quiz, speak to Orlando Smith in the basement section of the Varrock Museum. Once the quiz starts, choose a room located north, east, south, or west. Click on the plaque in front of the display to receive a question. Answering each question correctly earns you 2 kudos, for a total of 28 kudos upon completing the quiz. After answering all the questions, talk to Orlando Smith again to receive 1,000 experience points for both Hunter and Slayer skills.
Cleaning Dig Site Objects
You can obtain kudos by cleaning Uncleaned Find rocks at the Varrock Museum. However, you must first complete The Dig Site quest to clean these rocks. Head to the fenced-off location at the museum’s entrance, wearing leather gloves and boots, and with a trowel, rock pick, and specimen brush in your inventory. These items can be found on the south wall of the location. Pick up an Uncleaned Find by clicking on the Dig Site specimen rocks, and clean it by using the Uncleaned Find on the specimen table. Some artifacts to look for include ancient symbols, ancient coins, old symbols, old coins, and pottery. Placing the artifacts in their designated display case will give you 10 kudos. Collecting all the artifacts rewards you with a total of 50 kudos.
Completing Quests
There are 14 different quests that reward you with Museum Kudos:
- Demon Slayer
- Rune Mysteries

- The Grand Tree

After completing a quest, talk to Historian Minas on the second floor of the Varrock Museum to redeem your kudos.
Assembling Fossils in Display Cases
To display your fossils, you must first clean them using a cleaning bench on Fossil Island. Build a cleaning bench by carrying 5 planks, 5 nails, a hammer, and a saw in your inventory. You’ll also need leather gloves, leather boots, a trowel, a rock pick, and a specimen brush to clean the unidentified fossils. Once cleaned, place the fossils in the fossil storage near the Museum Camp on Fossil Island. To put the fossils on display, go to the Varrock Museum and head downstairs to the fossil display cases. Click on the fossil storage to retrieve the fossils you want to display. Each completed fossil display case awards you with 2 kudos, and completing all the display cases earns you a total of 72 kudos.
