The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is going against the trend of increasing game prices by setting its price at $39.99 across all platforms. This announcement comes as the game becomes available for digital download. PS4, PS5, and Steam users can even enjoy a discounted price of $35.99 until the game’s official launch on August 18. Xbox owners are not left out either, as the game will be available on Game Pass.
Physical pre-orders for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre are currently limited to select retailers. Additionally, the physical version of the game includes a poster of the box art as an added bonus.
Gun Media CEO Wes Keltner humorously addressed the lower price by highlighting the lack of a fixed standard pricing for games. He even jokingly suggested that players could Venmo him the difference if they felt compelled to do so.
Gun Media has historically priced their multiplayer games in the $39.99 range, following a successful strategy with Friday the 13th: The Game. This trend continued with Illfonic’s Predator: Hunting Grounds and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, both of which maintained the same price point.
