The Ford 4-AT Trimotor played a significant role in the history of commercial passenger aviation. With its rugged construction and exceptional flying capabilities, it could operate in challenging conditions and land on austere airfields. The Trimotor opened up long-range routes, including the Key West to Havana line, and gained popularity among 100 different airlines. It even served in military logistics support.

In 1926, the Trimotor took its maiden flight and quickly became a renowned aircraft during the Golden Age of Flight. With its corrugated aluminum construction, it boasts a length of 49 feet, 10 inches, a height of 11 feet, 9 inches, and a wingspan of 74 feet. The aircraft is powered by three 300-horsepower, 9-cylinder Wright J-6-9 Whirlwind radial piston engines, enabling it to reach a maximum speed of 132 mph.

Microsoft Flight Simulator offers an authentic experience with the Ford 4-AT Trimotor. The aircraft comes with five liveries, including Black Ford, Emerald Harbor, New Guinea, Spanish Republic, and World Travel. It also offers three landing gear configurations: terrestrial wheeled, floats, and skis. For one week, simmers can enjoy the Trimotor for free. After that, it will be available for purchase at $14.99.
