How to Trigger the “True” Ending Cutscene in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Just like its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gives players a lot of control over their gameplay experience. However, if you want to witness the best possible conclusion in Tears of the Kingdom, there are certain requirements you need to meet. In this article, we will guide you on how to trigger the secret “true” ending cutscene in Tears of the Kingdom.
Requirements for the “True” Ending
To unlock the “true” ending cutscene organically, you must complete all the main quests offered in Tears of the Kingdom. This includes conquering the main dungeons such as Hyrule Castle and the Spirit Temple, where you obtain the Vow of Mineru. In addition, you need to acquire the Camera from Robbie, view all the memories, and obtain the Master Sword before the final battle.
Furthermore, it is recommended to complete the lead-up quests for some of these major objectives. For instance, cure the Deku Tree before obtaining the Master Sword and clear the thunderhead before facing the Spirit Temple. Even if you have already reached the Master Sword or the Spirit Temple, it is still advised to complete these preliminary quests to unlock the bonus ending cutscene.
Note that although the main story content includes the Autobuild quest, it does not include the Master Kohga quest that comes after it. Despite the Master Kohga quest providing crucial information about the final boss’s location, the game considers it a side adventure, so it is optional.
In total, Tears of the Kingdom features 23 main quests required for obtaining the final ending cutscene. Two of these quests, Find Princess Zelda and Destroy Ganondorf, can only be completed by finishing the game. As long as you have 21 out of the 23 quests completed on the Purah Pad’s main quest list before facing Ganondorf, you will unlock the last cutscene.
