Every year, the Fortnite summer event attracts a lot of attention and excitement, and this year’s Summer Escape event is no different. With a range of free cosmetics to earn through event challenges, the addition of two new skins in the shop, bonus rewards for Fortnite Crew members, and some changes to the island, there’s a lot to look forward to. Here’s all the information you need on Fortnite Summer Escape.

New Location: Sunswoon Lagoon

A new temporary party headquarters, Sunswoon Lagoon, has appeared in the jungle biome for the duration of the event, until July 18. This is a chance for players to relax and take it easy after the recent intense gameplay.

Gameplay Changes: Ice Cream Buffs and Fireworks Flare Gun

The popular ice cream cone items are making a return, offering various buffs and heals like low-gravity jumping. The flavors available include Normal Ice Cream Cone, Frozen Ice Cream Cone, Guzzling Ice Cream Cone, Spicy Ice Cream Cone, and LiL Whip’s Special Serve. Additionally, the flare gun has been given a summer makeover and now creates a fireworks effect when fired into the sky.

Summer Escape Challenges and Free Cosmetics

As expected, the Fortnite Summer Escape event comes with a set of in-game quests that offer new character cosmetics such as back bling and gliders. There are a total of nine free rewards available for completing these challenges over the two-week event. The challenges are divided into three categories, with each set becoming progressively available during specific dates. Here’s the schedule:

• Quech Quests: Available from July 4-7
• Lagoon Party Quests: Available from July 8-11
• Make an Entrance Quests: Available from July 12-16

In addition to XP rewards, completing these quests will unlock the Nanners wrap, Treezy back bling, and Blossoms Drop contrail. More rewards can be earned by completing event-wide quests, including the Wild Fronds back bling, Bugsy glider, Toasted Coconut emote, and Lagoon Escape loading screen.

If that’s not enough, there are additional rewards for completing specific quests:

• Destroy 10 stones – Artifact Axe pickaxe
• Mantle within 30 seconds of busting through a door – Starry Sea wrap

Summer Showdown in Creative Mode

For those looking for summer vibes beyond the main game, Creative mode offers the Summer Showdown series featuring community-curated islands. Players can explore different player-made modes and experiences by accessing the Discover tab in the game.

New Summer Skins and Fortnite Crew Bonus

This year’s summer event introduces two new skins in the item shop: Opal, a new character, and Chaos Explorer, a deep sea diving-themed version of a previous character. Players can expect the return of past summer event skins like Beach Midas and Beach Jules. Additionally, battle pass owners can look forward to the challenges for the latest midseason skin, Purradise Meowscles. Fortnite Crew members will also receive an exclusive bonus item, the Nanner Buddy back bling.

Fortnite Summer Escape End Date

The Fortnite Summer Escape event will end on July 18 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET. Players are advised to complete any related quests before the event ends in order to unlock the associated cosmetics.
