It surpasses all other shields in the game in terms of durability, making it an essential item to have. While the Hylian Shield will last for a significant portion of your gameplay, it will eventually break. So, how can you find a replacement? This guide will provide you with the answer.

Step 1: Reach Hateno Village and Complete the Mayoral Election Questline

To obtain a new Hylian Shield, you’ll first need to make your way to Hateno Village and complete the mayoral election questline. Once you’ve accomplished this, Cece will remain in her house for the remainder of the game and offer to sell you special clothes that you may have already found.

Step 2: Purchase the Spare Hylian Shield from Cece

Despite her primary focus on fashion, Cece surprisingly sells a spare Hylian Shield if you’ve already acquired the one located in the Docks beneath Hyrule Castle. However, she sets a high price of 3,000 rupees for this rare and highly sought-after item. It’s important to note that you can only purchase another Hylian Shield from Cece if you have either discarded or broken your current one. The game does not allow you to accumulate multiple Hylian Shields in your inventory.
