Capcom has revealed that Exoprimal, the cooperative shooter set for release on July 14, will have cross-platform play. However, there’s a catch – players won’t be able to form cross-platform parties.

How Exoprimal Parties Will Work at Launch

Matchmaking in Exoprimal will be cross-platform, allowing players to connect with others across different platforms. However, the ability to create parties will be limited to specific ecosystems. These ecosystems include Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows; PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5; and Steam.

Unfortunately, this means that Xbox players won’t be able to directly team up with their friends on PlayStation 5 unless they coincidentally match up in matchmaking. Capcom has acknowledged this issue and stated that they are actively looking for solutions, but it may take time to implement them.

The absence of cross-platform parties was already noticed by players during the game’s open beta. Despite the months that have passed since then, Capcom has yet to find a solution for enabling cross-platform parties.

Additionally, Capcom has promised to share the full roadmap for Exoprimal soon. The company has already announced a collaboration with Street Fighter 6, set to be released in the fall. The roadmap will likely provide more details on the collaboration, including the availability of themed cosmetic items and the two Street Fighter Exofighter skins. Furthermore, Capcom has future collaborations with other titles in the works, leaving fans hopeful for a potential Dino Crisis crossover.
