Japanese developer Inti Creates, known for series like Mega Man Zero and Azure Striker Gunvolt, has unveiled its latest project — a 2D action side-scrolling game called Umbraclaw.
Directed by Satoru Nishizawa, who brought us Blaster Master Zero, the game is currently in the deep stages of development. In Umbraclaw, players will assume the role of a cat trapped in the afterlife, on a quest to break the cycle of death and rebirth.
Find hope in death. Umbraclaw is a 2D side-scrolling action game that follows the perilous journey of Kuon, a cat who has died and must return home to his owner from the underworld known as the Soulplane.
Kuon possesses the power of “Anima Revive” which allows them to gain abilities from different animals. These acquired abilities will be essential for overcoming the challenges that Kuon encounters on their journey.
Umbraclaw, the newest creation from director Satoru Nishizawa, presents a captivating tale that showcases cats as not only cute but also cool. The game’s dark yet vibrant graphics will immerse players in a fantasy storybook world.
Can Kuon successfully breach the Boundary and return home safely…?
While no release date has been announced yet, Umbraclaw is confirmed for the Nintendo Switch. Share your initial thoughts on this new platformer in the comments below.
