Each character has a visual representation of their friendship points, displayed as hearts. Most NPCs have a maximum of 10 hearts, but as a bachelorette, Leah can reach up to 14 hearts, which increases once you marry her.

How Friendship Works and Why You Should Give Gifts in Stardew Valley

In order to befriend NPCs in Stardew Valley, giving them gifts is essential. Different characters have different preferences, so it’s important to choose the right gifts. When you give a gift, you will earn friendship points based on the character’s reaction. The maximum limit of friendship hearts with most villagers is 10. However, with Leah, the limit is 14. Each heart is equivalent to 250 friendship points, which gradually decrease over time.

The best way to build friendship is to give gifts that characters love. These gifts earn you 80 friendship points. These include Chanterelle, Common Mushroom, Daffodil, Dandelion, Driftwood, Ginger, Hazelnut, Holly, Leek, Magma Cap, Morel, Purple Mushroom, Snow Yam, Spring Onion, Wild Horseradish, and Winter Root.

The Best Gift to Give Leah in Stardew Valley

At the beginning of the game, forageable items are the best gifts to give Leah. As you progress and level up, you can consider purchasing Salad from the Saloon for 220g or producing Goat Cheese through the Cheese Press (unlocked at Level 6). If you have Pigs, keeping them for Truffles can also be a good option.

Wine is another excellent gift for Leah, as it increases the price of crops threefold. By reaching Level 8 in Farming and having Kegs, you can easily produce Wine and gift it to her.
