GTA 6 Hacker Deemed Unfit for Trial

A massive leak regarding GTA 6, the highly anticipated game from Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, occurred a few months ago. The leak involved stolen videos, images, and information about the sequel to GTA V. Now, the 18-year-old hacker responsible for the leak has been determined to be unfit for trial.

According to Reuters, the alleged hacker, Arion Kurtaj, has been found unfit to stand trial. This means that a jury will determine his responsibility for the criminal charges brought against him, rather than his guilt or innocence.

Kurtaj, who recently turned 18, is accused not only of hacking Rockstar and leaking GTA 6 material but also of committing cyber crimes against other companies, including Nvidia, Uber, Revolut, BT, and EE. While a 17-year-old alleged accomplice will face trial for these charges, Kurtaj’s mental state has raised concerns.

Court documents reveal that Kurtaj and the unnamed 17-year-old made multiple appearances at Southwark Crown Court in London. The court learned that the teenagers hacked into various companies, including Rockstar, and attempted to blackmail the video game studio by threatening to release its source code.

However, psychiatrists have determined that Kurtaj is unfit to stand trial, as he may not be capable of understanding the evidence presented or testifying on his own behalf, under UK law. The decision regarding the 17-year-old has not been disclosed yet, and it is presumed that he will stand trial for the alleged cyber crimes.
