Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC Isn’t in Ubisoft’s Plans

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Won’t Receive Extensive Support, Says Ubisoft

Ubisoft has announced that there are no plans for Assassin’s Creed Mirage DLC and the game won’t be receiving extensive post-launch support. The lack of DLC was confirmed by creative director Stephane Boudon during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session.

Boudon stated, “For now, Mirage has no plan for DLC or extensive post-launch,” in response to a question about the possibility of Mirage getting a mission replay feature like previous Assassin’s Creed games.

Unlike previous games in the series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage does not have a season pass, signaling that Ubisoft does not intend to provide substantial support for the game after its release. While other Ubisoft games typically offer various special editions that include a DLC pass, Assassin’s Creed Mirage only offers a Prince of Persia-inspired cosmetic pack and the Forty Thieves quest as incentives to purchase the larger editions and pre-order the game.

This is a departure from the recent trend of Assassin’s Creed games receiving multiple expansions and free updates. For example, both Origins and Odyssey had several expansions, missions, and features added post-launch. Valhalla, the most recent installment, received three major expansions and numerous free updates with additional content.

Interestingly, Mirage originally started as DLC for Valhalla but evolved into its own separate experience. This makes it the first non-handheld Assassin’s Creed title since 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Rogue to not receive any DLC. Additionally, Mirage will not include level-based progression, reminiscent of the older Assassin’s Creed games.

While Assassin’s Creed Mirage may not have extensive post-launch support, fans can still enjoy the base game and its unique experience. Ubisoft’s decision reflects a departure from the longer post-launch tails of previous Assassin’s Creed games, providing a different approach to the franchise.
