Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade, a highly-anticipated mobile game set in Ancient China, is set to begin its first closed beta on August 3rd, according to Ubisoft. Developed by Tencent’s Level Infinite, Codename Jade is a free-to-play open-world game that takes place in the second century BC, placing it between the events of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins.

In Codename Jade, players assume the role of a character named Wei Yu, an adopted child of a master who embarks on a quest for revenge after their close friend is betrayed. As the story unfolds, players will delve deeper into their mission, uncovering secrets from the past and encountering a powerful force that threatens everything they hold dear.

The game offers a vast open world to explore, from the Great Wall outside the empire’s borders to the imperial capital of Xianyang. Players will encounter ancient history and hidden dangers as they defend against the Xiongnu and work to dismantle conspiracies. As they progress, they will take on greater responsibilities and face new challenges.

Ubisoft had previously announced a closed beta for Codename Jade would take place in the summer and opened pre-registration for interested players. Now, the official start date for the first closed beta has been confirmed for August 3rd on iOS and Android. However, Ubisoft notes that the initial closed beta will only be available to a limited number of randomly selected players in North America and Western Europe.

Players who have signed up for the closed beta will receive a questionnaire via email between July 17th and 27th. Successful applicants will then receive their invites from July 27th to 31st, with pre-download beginning on August 1st. The Codename Jade closed beta will run from August 3rd to 11th.

As for the full release of Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade on iOS and Android, Ubisoft has stated that it has no information to share at this time.
